World Retail Awards Grand Jury 2016
Now in their 10th year, the World Retail Awards have become an important event in the global retail calendar. Each year, the Awards recognise excellence across the retail industry and in the key areas that drive innovation and success.
The Awards include both nominated categories and general entry categories where retailers submit entries. All entries and nominations are reviewed by panels of expert Category Judges who help select the shortlist of up to six in each category. Category Judges are specialists in their fields, but not necessarily retailers to avoid any conflicts of interest.
The 2016 Grand Jury is comprised of global senior retailers. The Grand Jury’s responsibilities are:
- To commit to the time to review all of the category shortlists online and select those they feel are the winners. They are given up to two weeks to complete this process.
- To attend the World Retail Congress in Dubai and to join a meeting of the Grand Jury. This will take place on the morning of April 12th at the Madinat Jumeirah.
- To be filmed giving short comments about some of the winning entries. The edited comments will be shown at the Closing Gala and Awards Ceremony on April 14th. Filming will take place after the judging is complete on April 12th.
- To attend, if possible, the Closing Gala and Awards Ceremony at the Madinat Jumeirah on the evening of April 14th.
